Jordopgang, Emilie Lærkner and Ida Westberg, 28.-29.09.19
“Emilie came home from a long journey to Indonesia. Ida moved to Bergen. Now we meet and bring our impressions with us into a new place. We meet to create from what we bring with us and from what the place brings to us. We want to investigate how we can relate to each other and how we can relate to the place, Kvernaland. Our exhibition will show what we create during our stay. We bring along small artefacts from our journeys.”
Ida Westberg (Sweden, 1989) holds a BA from Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts. She works within the extended field of painting which often results in larger, spacious pieces that intensifies the body awareness of the viewer. Her art circles around dreams and memories. Explorations that imprints the body, how we carry our memories with us and experiences that impacts us knowingly and unknowingly.
Emilie Lærkner, born in Denmark, 1992. BA student at Trondheim Academy of Fine Arts. She has shown performances at Trondhjems Kunstforening and Rake Visningsrom and participated in a performance at ARoS Kunstmuseum. She attempts to understand the current changes we go through on the globe through dance, melodies and images. Today she read about a woman who wished she had a thousand hands, discussed the vanishing coral reefs with a friend, received a globe lamp as a present and wondered what life must be like as a circus performer.
