"When Studio K was established right in the center of Kvernaland, I was delighted and impressed by young people who are investing in such an initiative. Exhibition space and studios for artistic practices under the same roof.
About 1 year ago Kari Ann Lending, founder of Studio K, asked if I would like to have exhibition in her STUDIO K. When I turned 80 this spring, I reflected on so many things but answered yes and thought: "Now or never!" "BEFORE AND NOW" - a collection of formal and informal work over many years. "BEFORE" - stands for earlier expressions in many techniques and objects. "NOW" - stands for the things I create today, where I can use my artistic knowledge. STUDIO K - I have been totally free in planning and in the selection of theme for the exhibition, and for that I am grateful. ”- HERBORG 28.10.2019.
Herborg Kverneland (b. 1939) is from Time Municipality, Norway. She has her education from Bryne Gymnas (1959) and Picture / Script education from SHKS in Oslo (1959-62). In addition, she has taken international calligraphy courses in London (1983 and 1984), similar courses in Belgium (1989, 1990, 1992 and 1994), and other courses in Norway. Among others, she has received Time Municipality’s Kulturstipend (1984), the Establishment School for Women in Rogaland (1991-1992), Rogaland County Culture Scholarship (1992) and Time Municipality’s Kulturpris (1993). Herborg has had both solo and collective exhibitions (1989-2005) and has been included in textbook writing 1995 (Einar Egeland). She has worked as a freelancer with varied commissions in writing and illustration for both business and private. She has also taught courses and lectures both locally and elsewhere in Norway. She has her studio and workshop at home in Kverneland.
