SOFT ART, Liv Underhaug, Ole Martin Sandland and Kari Ann Lending

08.08-10.08.18

Soft Art is an exhibition based on textile. Textile is a traditional medium, heavy in layers of history. At the same time there is something completely everyday-like about fabric. It is something we know, something we recognize, something we cover our bodies with. The textile is tactile. If someone mentions "cotton", our body recognizes the feeling of it automatically. Or, if someone mentions "wool" we can almost feel a slight tickling on the skin.

The exhibition Soft Art is based on three practitioners who approach the textile in different ways, all three of them from the Jæren-area in Norway. The project starts with what we have in common: Jæren, as the place for our upbringing, and the use of textile as medium. The project results in an experimental exhibition where we highlight our different approaches and our collective choice of textile as a medium.
