Roadtrip to Jæren, exhibition Morten Abel

"We have to talk."
"Talk?"
"We don't talk together anymore."
"We talk all the time."
"Come, let’s take a roadtrip to Jæren."

In this exhibition, Morten Abel explores "roadtrip to Jæren" as an arena for the good, the bad, the important conversation. Through movement in new surroundings, without external disturbances, there is progress and focused attention. Nature changes its landscape, the road stretches forward, and time meets us.

Morten Abel (1962) is a Stavanger-based artist who specializes in painting and graphics. Abel is also a well-known musician who has achieved great success. He has won five Spellemannpriser and was honored with a place in the Rockheim Hall of Fame in 2018. In addition, he received Stavanger municipality's cultural award in 2022 for his significant efforts in music. Abel is engaged in several art forms - both theatre, fashion and writing.

"My art is about processes. About being in the moment, taking chances and being strict and ruthless. The works must have a feeling, and I work until the feeling is there."
