Open Session, Performance Art Stavanger

Studio K and Performance Art Stavanger invite you to an Open Session on Friday 23rd of February from 17.00-19.00 at Studio K. This session is led by David Lamignan Larsen (f. 1981). David Lamignan Larsen has been working with performance art since 2006 and has done performances at Kunstnernes Hus (Oslo), the Petroleum Museum (Stavanger), Stavanger Maritim (Stavanger), Heimdal kunstforening (Trondheim) and Haugesund Kunstforening (Haugesund) just to name a few.

This winter's Open Session will focus on breath and movement. How to let loose and calm your nerves? Breathing: can be used as a tool before, during or after you have had a performance to maintain inner peace, and perform as relaxed as possible to potentially reach a good result. Movement: Can act as a warm-up before a performance or cooling down after a performance. Can also help release the cognitive and feel even more relaxed and free. The content is inspired by Tam Thê/Qi Gong, in which David has a trainer's certificate. Welcome!

Open session is a concept where people meet at an agreed time and place, and do either planned sketches or completely spontaneous improvisations within performance. It is a concept that opens up for experimentation, try-outs and unity. You are free to attend in any way you wish, also if you prefer to be a viewer. It is free to participate.

Studio K is supported by Time Kommune, Rogaland Fylkeskommune and Kulturrådet.
